Azure Engineer

Tiber Creek Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Azure Engineer with DoD Secret Clearance to assist with the day-to-day operations at the Program Office level for the DoD Enterprise Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) solution. Qualified candidates for this hybrid remote position possess a background and skills utilizing Azure Cloud Services and building/managing Windows servers, as well as a desire to learn and support cloud technologies in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate also has PowerShell and/or Linux scripting experience and works well in a virtual team environment.

Location:Telework from VA/DC/MD with up to 20% client site (Ft. Meade MD)
Education:Bachelor's degree in related field; can be substituted with experience.
Certifications:Security+ required. Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) preferred.
Experience:4+ years’ related work experience
Clearance:Current DoD Secret clearance required.
Related Experience Should Include:
  • Direct experience managing Azure Cloud services and subscriptions (such as Windows VMs.)
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management or Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) is preferred, but not required.
  • Installation, upgrades and maintenance for operating systems and applications; providing supporting data and documentation for systems and applications accreditation processes and change requests; verifying system, application, and configuration changes through testing and change management processes.
  • Managing and configuring applications and network load balancers.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, bash or similar preferred.
  • Security auditing such as SCAP/STIG/ACAS/etc.
  • Engineering and architecting IT infrastructure environments from the ground up. This includes the network (VLANS, subnets, ACLS) and server environment according to best practices.
  • Managing and configuring application and network firewalls.
  • Design, implementation, and management of Windows Server 2016-2022 environments.
Job Duties:
  • Utilize Azure Cloud services such as ADFS, Azure VMs, Azure Login Analytics, Azure Application Insights.
  • Support Azure (Entra) Dashboards and Workbooks.
  • Contribute to ICAM Briefings, white papers and supporting portfolio documentation.
  • Support the development/maintenance of engineering diagrams and drawings in accordance with DoDAF.
  • Implement, automate, and improve infrastructure administration tasks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of systems, applications, and computing equipment in a cloud hosted computing environment.
  • Support limited diagnostics and troubleshooting of web applications in production environments.
  • Collaboration with development team members.
  • Build and administer Windows servers.
  • Support Active Directory, including AD accounts, security groups, group policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Administer Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Manage Azure logging and alerting.
