Database Developer

Tiber Creek Consulting is seeking Database Developers, from junior through senior skill levels, who will work independently to design and implement data warehouse modules based on written requirements, manage multiple complex tasks with tight deadlines, and proactively seek assistance from a variety of subject matter experts.

As part of our staff, you will be applying your skills to innovative and vital projects for Tiber Creek applications as well as for our government and commercial clients in the Northern Virginia area.

Education: Post-Secondary Degree, or equivalent years of experience.
Experience: 3+ years' work experience
Clearance You must be clearable for a DoD Secret clearance. For most positions, active clearance is NOT required to start, so there is no waiting or bench period.
Related Experience
Should Include:
  • Solid understanding of database programming (T-SQL) and implementing advanced T-SQL features.
  • Must have a good understanding of the data development lifecycle and the tools that support it, such as SSIS design tools.
  • Experience with metadata concepts and strategies.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, SSMS, SSIS, and other SQL tools.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and layers in between.
  • Working knowledge and experience with dimensional modeling principles.
  • Knowledge of source code versioning techniques in the context of SVN or TFS.
  • Knowledge of and ability to program data processing cycles (ETL).
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence Development Studio.
  • Knowledge of DTS conversion
Job Duties:
  • Programming within Microsoft SQL Server 2008+ and T-SQL.
  • Migrating data from legacy systems into latest data models.
  • Working with development team to provide support with database design and optimization.
  • Monitoring production environment performance on a daily basis.
  • Automating upkeep of production database server environment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Usual office working conditions and standard office equipment.
  • Required to sit for long periods of time using a personal computer.
  • Some light physical effort required.

Minimum Qualifiers:
  • Candidates must be US citizens who are clearable for a DoD Secret clearance, due to military contract requirements.
  • Only local residents to the Northern VA, DC, MD area will be considered.
